So Many Personal Trainers…Which One!?

There are so many personal trainers within the health and fitness industry, that it can often be confusing just finding the right one (let alone actually doing the exercise!) Whilst a personal trainer is going to be a great investment into your health and wellbeing, you need to determine who is most suitable for you, so you get the most out of that person. In this article will talk about various points that you should consider when choosing a personal trainer.

The first and most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your trainer. If you don?t respect or even like him or her, you will not obtain value from your investment. Get to know the trainer first so you can determine your level of comfort with the professional.

Next, ensure that your trainer has the correct qualifications necessary to be your fitness coach. You would be surprised how many people out there have insufficient education and qualifications, yet claim to be a personal trainer! This can be dangerous if you are putting your body in the hands of someone who isn?t entirely sure what he or she is doing.

Check the degree of professional experience that this person possesses. This is an important step because you don?t want to be coached by a person who knows all the theory, but is unable to put that into practice.

When considering experience, you should also determine how much first-hand exercise experience that person has in relation to what you want to achieve. If you want to lose weight, are they a similar size to what you want to be? If they are overweight, it?s a clear warning sign that they may not be aware of how to achieve the goals that you want to achieve from a first-hand perspective (even though they may know all the theory!).

Ask others about that trainer. Speak to their other current or past clients and find out if they are happy with the services that this personal trainer provides. Whilst a trainer may seem qualified, educated and fit, they may turn up late, ignore their clients and end all their sessions early.

By now you would have a very strong feeling about this trainer. Trust your instincts and if they are screaming out at you to move forward, sit down with him or her and discuss your plan of action.

Last little bit, be proactive about changing your life for the better. If you really want to change your health, fitness or physique, you need to do something about it. Actions speak louder than words…and actions are going to be the only thing that is going to make that positive change!
